BBC document electrical safety procedures with help from Lucid
Lucid was engaged by the BBC at a time when the public broadcaster was redeveloping its engineering guidance procedures. BBC's role as a standard-bearer for the entire broadcast industry meant that the procedures had to be of high quality and exceed minimum requirements. However, writing these procedures proved a slow process since the responsibility was allocated to broadcast engineers with existing heavy workloads.
The availability of a small team of technical writers from Lucid allowed BBC engineers to focus on their key responsibilities, and crucially, ensured that their knowledge of industry best practise was captured and available to other staff in the organisation.
Lucid exhausted a variety of information sources to ensure the quality of the documentation. We engaged subject matter experts from within the BBC engineering department and availed of independent expertise from other industries as well as a range of relevant standards from regulatory bodies.
Our authors were able to add our expertise to ensure that the end product was pitched and structured to meet the broadcaster's unique requirements before the documentation was ultimately made available on the organisation's Intranet. Back to Case Studies |
